Sambata am prins o "gura de aer" si mam dus la garaj. Am dat tot ce se putea jos de pe motocicleta : bord, far, carene (ma rog.....ce mai ramasese din ele) . Acum e chiar cheala =))

Am ajuns la garaj cu gandul de a-i schimba amortizorul ...si am reusit intr-un sfarsit, dupa cateva minore modificari si ceva belituri pe la maini si , fara nelipsitul mult tutun. Acum are amortizor spate de GSXR 1000 2007 ;) . Amortizeaza bine , si peste toate celelalte , arata si bine , si e si mai usor cu cateva kg decat cel original.

Urmeaza cateva poze cu noul amortizor si cu undertail-ul ciopartit cu foarfeca de tabla (aia era la indemana cand m-a lovit ideea =)) )

Though it has its styling roots in the Café racer culture of the 1950s and 1960s, the streetfighter is very much inspired by the new Japanese bikes of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The term "streetfighter" appears to have been originally coined by Steven Myatt, to describe what the guys like Huggy, Irish Stewart and Huffy were building in the late 1980s. He applied the term to motorcycles which were modified to enhance their practicality, performance and handling, as opposed to the custom scene which preferred style over outright ability. Though it's unclear when and who built the first of the modern streetfighters, the first sighting of the design template was seen in Bike magazine in 1983 when the editor commissioned Andy Sparrow to draw a comic strip to replace Ogri. It was entitled 'Bloodrunners' [1] and featured despatch riders, delivering blood and live human organs for transplant operations. They rode enormous Japanese inline fours with turbos, with no extraneous parts. Fairings, mirrors, pillion seats & rear footpegs etc were all binned in favour of lightness and handling ability. Under-seat exhausts, dual headlights and the widest tyres were de-rigueur. Huggy Leaver was inspired to start customizing bikes in this style and there was a proliferation of 'ratted' streetfighters in London in the late eighties.

The term has since been diluted somewhat, and is now regularly applied to any bike with motocross style handlebars, no fairings or other typical customizations. In recent years, the term has also come to be applied to motorcycles manufactured without fairings in this style, usually based on the same engine/frame combination as an equivalent fully-faired motorcycle in the manufacturer's product line-up.

Currently, race replicas, like the Suzuki GSX-R Series and the Honda CBR series, that have been damaged in accidents or through hooliganism are generally the starting basis for a streetfighter. The GSX-R 750 was initially often favored, due to its light weight and flexible engine. A side effect of the use of the 1980s GSX-R was the retention of the dual headlights in the subsequent streetfighter. This feature is now a common trait in both custom bikes and factory streetfighters like the Triumph Speed Triple.

In 1993 Ducati introduced a new naked sportbike called the Monster. Since that time it has been a perennial favorite amongst streetfighter enthusiasts. In 1994 however, Triumph Motorcycles introduced the Speed Triple, based on its Daytona sportbike. This was an immediate success and rapidly eclipsed the Monster in sales. The Triumph is now the current favorite among factory streetfighters due to excellent performance, low ownership cost, and high reliability.

In the intervening years both bikes have been substantially improved, and have been joined by a rapidly growing group of other manufactures producing naked sportbikes. These include: Benelli, Aprilia, Bimota, BMW, Moto Guzzi, Moto Morini, MV Agusta, and Buell, a subsidiary of Harley Davidson. Even the "big four" Japanese motorcycle manufactures, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, have tried to enter this market, but with limited success to date.

Most fairings removed, modified or replaced
Distinctive paint schemes
Loud aftermarket exhaust systems
Aftermarket headlights to replace often heavy headlight setups
Large rear sprockets to sacrifice top speed for more acceleration
Larger brake discs than stock
Improved brake calipers
Improved springs, shock absorbers, and various other parts to improve the chassis
Various performance improvements to the engine: superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous oxide, increased cylinder bores, custom porting, revamped fuel injection and timing, etc.

Ironically, some examples are so highly customized as to actually exceed the cost of the original repairs. Chromed and/or modified frames, expensive engine work, re-routed cables, various appearance accessories, and custom paint are also often seen.

Controversy

Some people automatically (although unfairly) associate the term "streetfighter motorcycle" as one that is being operated by a rider who usually exhibits a gross general neglect of traffic regulations. And although it may be true that "some" streetfighter riders do occasionally like to perform stunts while in traffic, it is still highly debatable as to whether or not streetfighter riders, in general, cause more problems on the road than riders of stock sportbikes, or riders of any other type of "street" motorcycle for that matter. The one explanation that might be attributed to this reputation of being a possible "traffic trouble-maker" might be the distinctive visual appearance of most streetfighter motorcycles; their appearance usually making them more easily "noticed" in virtually all situations, whether the rider is actually breaking the law or not.

A streetfighter is a superbike that is customized by removing the fairing, and making other changes that result in an overall more aggressive look. Made popular by European riders, this type of custom motorcycle is gaining popularity all over the world.

This particular term should not be confused with a street motorcycle or street-use motorcycle, which is a generic term (used by the motorcycle industry) applied to urban street bikes.

Suntem in 31 ian 2009 .....motoreta arata la fel ca la ultima postare ,fara carene , si cam atat ....

Piesele sunt la cutiute ,asa cum le-am lasat...nu e timp, dar o sa fie . Usor usor trebuie sa o pun pe roate.

Cu speranta ca data viitoare cand voi scrie aici , vor fi si ceva poze cu progresul la lucrari. :D

In sfarsit , acum o saptamana am facut rost de mult doritele si cautatele carburatoare. Mai ramane acum curatatul , montatul si reglatul lor.

Timpul ne omoara...

Timpul .......care nu il avem ....asta ne omoara....sau cel putin pe mine..... Stau si ma uit de la balcon la motoreta si nu imi vine sa cred ca nu am timp de ea....pur si simplu nu am timp.... Umbul de 4 luni dupa un set de carburatoare pe care nu il gasesc nici cum...... Dar....la's ca le rezolv eu usor usor. :D

Acum ceva seri , pe la 11 noaptea , bstiutza a ajuns acasa , iar azi a primit si ea si sora ei cea mare cate o guma noua pe spate, de la Iepurasul de Pasti ,aka Gabone.

Gata , am ajuns acasa si dupa cum am spus mai sus o sa postez primele poze cu gixerul , din pacate cam neclare pt ca in garaj era intuneric:

Incep acest blog cu speranta de a va tine la curent cu tot ce se va intampla de acum incolo cu noua mea achizitie si noul meu proiect streetfighter.
Poveste incepe in momentul in care mi se face o oferta de nerefuzat de un Gsxr 750 din 1994 cu 34.000km , int-o stare impecabila , mai putin o oglinda rupta(un mic incident , dar fara nici o urmare grava , a uitat sa ii puna cricul cand s-a dat jos de pe ea =)) ). Motocicleta impecabila , la un pret incredibil.
Nu stau fosrte mult pe ganduri , cer pareri pe la prieteni , pe acasa (consoarta :D ) , primesc de la toata lumea numai incurajari , dau telefon omului si ii spun ca o iau.
Propunerea a venit de la vanzator sambata , 6 aprilie 2008, i-am dat raspunsul Duminica.
Luni ma duc sa o vad , ii fac ceva poze , ii zic ca ramane batuta in cuie afaerea. Azi , mari , 9 aprilie 2008, omul imi tranteste in brate o claie de acte, toate actele privind motocicleta si istoria ei.
Acum trebuie sa o iau de la serviceul unde a avut facuta revizia si sa o duc la ITP, apio la RAR pt identificare si apoi sa o inscriu.
Sa speram ca toate or sa mearga bine si o sa gasesc transport pt ea , deoarece motocicleta a fost pe leasing , a avut numere rosii , dar au expirat , si ca atare nu ii mai pot lua altele.

Am uitat sa mentionez ca motocicleta este cumparata pt a incepe un proiect streetfighter , deoarece m-am cam saturat de motociclete de viteza pe drumurile de rahat ale Romaniei, pline de gropi , carute and shit like that.
E timpul sa trecem la ceva nou .
Sincer sa fiu , cochetez cu un proiect de genul acesta de ceva timp bun , initial dorind sa pornesc la drum cu un Cbr 929 RR , dar ivindu-se aceasta ocazie , nu am putut-o refuza , mai ales ca sunt un fan inrait la GSX-R - ului , motocicleta care indiferent de model , nu as da-o pe o alta omoloaga de-a ei din aceeiasi perioada in nici un caz.
Revin deseara cand ajung acasa cu primele poze facute luni in service.
